About Yoga Chitta

Yoga Chitta is a School and Community created to fill a void in the Yoga Community. So often black, brown, and indigenous people in America, find themselves as the “only one” in teacher training of predominantly white American women. This reality inspired co-founders Khalief & Jade to create Yoga Chitta, a place where black, brown, and indigenous people in the United States and Abroad can learn from and be amongst people to whom they can relate.

This is a safe environment open to all people from all walks of life whose focus is to evoke prosperity, good health mentally & physically, and overall enjoyment of life via the ancient science of Yoga.

This is an initiative to inspire people to live a life full of joy and purpose by reaching as far as possible via teachers who come through this lineage and training.

About Khalief

Khalief Khadafi Walker known as Leaf is a Yogi/healer who teaches yoga, meditation, and a holistic approach to overall health and well being. Fully steeped in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of human existence, he is also recognized for his vigorous asana practice in which he combines balance, upper body strength and awareness to master inversions and arm balances.

In 2020, after years of teaching and acquiring the required hours of teaching experience Khalief decided to focus full time on Yoga and created Yoga Chitta’s signature 200hr Ytt course.  He co-founded Yoga Chitta school/community in efforts to create a safe environment for black, brown, and Indigenous people in America and abroad.

“This work I am doing is the work I started a lifetime ago. I was granted the opportunity to finish what I started and in today's time this mission of Yoga and making it palatable to black and brown people around the world is the mission. I’m here to fully be of service and complete this mission by establishing institutions and programs geared towards helping people live a full life. That’s a mission here on earth…”
